The new web portal MapMyClimate provides a unique opportunity for the visitor to better understand how individual behaviour influences the environment and climate.
The site takes the environmental impact of consumer habits as well as CO2 emission into consideration, both in the immediate neighbourhood and adjacent surroundings.
The portal is based on graphics with a photo background and interactive 2D maps of the Copenhagen area. These maps show local neighbourhoods in great detail allowing citizens to see their own immediate environment. By entering one’s own behavioural profile the immediate effect can be seen in a wider context.
Furthermore, the portal gives access to animations of climate projects in Copenhagen, e.g. a CO2 neutral part of the town.
The portal is based on some of the latest climate impact calculations produced by research institutes in Denmark including DHI, DTU and NERI. So far MapMyClimate only exists in Danish.
