The Eko Atlantic City project involves reclaiming over eight square kilometres of land adjacent to Lagos, Nigeria. The new reclaimed area will give room for a mix of residential, commercial, financial and tourist accommodation. Upon completion Eko Atlantic City will to provide residential accommodation for 250,000 people. The development is also expected to provide employment for at least 50,000 people.

Physical model testing at DHI laboratories supports the design and construction process of the long revetment protecting the reclaimed area. The large swell waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean makes it a challenging task to build the revetment and ensure the safety of the project. Intensive physical modeling of construction phases and final structures is able to verify the design of a project where safety is the most important factor.

The video from www.ekoatlantic.com explains and shows important aspects of the physical modeling at DHI.
