DHI Water & Environment is currently involved in four new projects funded by the Danish EPA and with the aim to explain and communicate how the requirements of the EU chemicals’ regulation, REACH, can best be implemented in the Danish companies participating in the projects. Furthermore, the general understanding of REACH requirements will be disseminated to a broader group of companies via seminars, tools and reports.
The four projects cover different industrial sectors and each project will address a particular type of REACH requirements:
- Detergents and cosmetic products [requirements to downstream users]
- Chemicals and raw materials [REACH tools]
- Electronic articles [chemicals in articles]
- Textiles [chemicals in preparations and articles]
Some of the projects involve collaboration between DHI and senior consultant Helle Simon Elbro (www.hseconsult.dk).
The projects are expected to provide DHI with practical experience with the questions and challenges faced by the participating industrial sectors which are believed to be valuable for the development of DHI consultancy services to industry.
